A True Expedition into the Heart of the Rainforest

Your journey takes place inside the ancient rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the last remaining wild ecosystems on Earth and home to the critically endangered Sumatran orangutan.

This is not a short tourist walk.

Day 1 – Entering the Rainforest

After breakfast in Bukit Lawang, we begin our ascent into the rainforest.

The first day is designed to gently introduce you to jungle terrain while offering strong chances to see wildlife, including:

Wild Sumatran orangutans

Thomas leaf monkeys

Long-tailed macaques

Your first riverside camp is set in a scenic and peaceful location.

Enjoy fresh jungle cuisine and relax under the sounds of nature.

Day 2 – Deeper Into Primary Forest

Today we move further away from tourist routes.

The forest becomes thicker and quieter. Massive trees tower above as your guide explains jungle ecology, medicinal plants, and survival techniques.

Swimming in a clear jungle river refreshes the afternoon before arriving at a beautiful riverside campsite.

Day 3 – Remote Wildlife Territory

Terrain becomes more adventurous with rolling hills and untouched jungle paths.

This area offers high opportunities to see orangutans in more natural, less visited zones. Gibbons and hornbills are often heard in the early morning.

In the evening, enjoy a private jungle dinner and relax by the river.

Day 4 – Expedition Into Elephant Habitat

Today is one of the most exciting parts of the journey.

We enter remote rainforest areas known as natural elephant habitat. These zones are rarely visited and remain truly wild.

If you are lucky, you may witness wild Sumatran elephants moving freely through the forest — a rare and unforgettable experience.

Wildlife encounters are always natural and respectful.

Camp in a quiet, untouched jungle location.

Day 5 – Hidden Waterfall & Jungle Serenity

A more relaxed but magical day.

We trek toward a hidden waterfall deep in the forest. Swim in fresh pools, enjoy a natural jungle shower, and take incredible photos.

This day balances adventure and comfort — giving your body time to recover while still exploring pristine nature.

Camp near the river for another peaceful evening in the wild.

Day 6 – Scenic Return & Final Jungle Night

We begin trekking back using a different and scenic route, offering panoramic jungle viewpoints.

Along the way, there are more opportunities to encounter wildlife and revisit elephant habitat zones.

Your final jungle camp is set beside a beautiful riverside location — a special last night celebration in the rainforest.

Day 7 – Morning Walk & River Tubing Adventure

Wake up to the sounds of birds and flowing water.

After breakfast, enjoy a short final jungle walk before preparing for your return to Bukit Lawang.

The adventure ends with traditional river tubing down the river — a fun and refreshing finale to your 7-day expedition.
